Spotted Eagle High School
The Spotted Eagle High School Learning Community founded in 1994, maintains a community and family orientation grounded in Native American heritage. This urban school is designed for at-risk students who will most benefit from an Indian-based curriculum and learning atmosphere. Spotted Eagle High School strives to provide each student with the opportunity to develop in a manner compatible with his or her abilities, interests and needs. Our school fosters the personal growth of students with a respectful, supportive, individualized, positive and caring school climate. Spotted Eagle High School all contribute to our students’ learning and success. Our instructors strive to sustain all of the Characteristics of a High Performing Urban Classroom. Throughout our plan there is deliberate structural evidence that the students, supported by the Instructional and Administrative Team provide: Active Engagement of Student Learners, Strategic Instructional Choices, Routine Use of a Variety of traditional and non-traditional Assessments, High Expectations Based on Learning Targets and alignment of curricula to the State Standards, Cultural Responsiveness to our diverse population, Partnerships with Families and Communities, and a Professional Learning Community that encourages and facilitates ongoing Collaboration with Colleagues, fostering our staff as Impassioned, Engaged Adult Learners. Spotted Eagle High School staff is mindful of and plan to encourage the continued fostering of the Seven Attributes of a Successful School through the implementation of our Educational Plan. Spotted Eagle High School is currently an alternative high school in partnership with Milwaukee Public Schools, under the Department of Diversified Community Schools.
