Indian and Native American Employment and Training Program

NATIVE IRON WORKERS 2

Spotted Eagle, Inc. has been providing comprehensive employment and training services to the off-reservation American Indian community in southeast Wisconsin since 1974.

Formerly known as the Milwaukee Area American Indian Manpower Council, Inc., the organization has grown in size and sophistication in order to provide additional workforce development and educational program services to the community.

The purpose of this program is to target the needs of unemployed, underemployed, and low income American Indians, Alaskan Natives, and Native Hawaiians, and to support comprehensive employment and training activities by promoting economic and social development.

The Indian and Native American WIOA program implements these workforce development activities to:

  • Develop academic, occupational, and literacy skills of participants.
  • Assist them to become more competitive in the workforce.
  • Help individuals achieve personal and economic self-sufficiency.

These services and activities are intended to be provided in a culturally appropriate manner, consistent with the principles of Indian self-determination, by Native American organizations and tribes.
